Juventus extended their advantage at the top of the Serie A table to 11 points with a routine 3-0 win at Fiorentina on Saturday.
Match Events
31' GOAL! Fiorentina 0-1 Juventus (Bentancur)
A lovely one-two pass with Dybala allows Bencantur to cut inside before slotting a perfectly placed shot into the bottom-right corner, leaving Lafont rooted to the spot!
37' SO CLOSE! Ronaldo's shot wide out
65' SHOT! Ronaldo's free kick saved
IT’S A GOOD SAVE BY LAFONT! Well our prayers are answered as Ronaldo is able to get his free-kick up and over the wall before dipping in front of Lafont who watches it well and parries it out for a corner.
69' GOAL! Fiorentina 0-2 Juventus (Chiellini)
CHIELLINI MAKES IT 2-0! A ball comes in from the right, and Chiellini puts in an awkward sliding shot which somehow loops over Lafont.
Ronaldo stands in the middle of three Fiorentina defenders and attempts to head it in, but he misses the chance. Even still, no Fiorentina players are able to whack it out, and the ball bounces over the line!
79' PENALTY GOAL! Fiorentina 0-3 Juventus (Ronaldo)
PENALTY TO JUVENTUS! It’s gone from bad to worse as the corner isn’t cleared properly, and Mandzukic’s cross inside the area to the far post is blocked clearly by the arm of Edimilson!
No mistake from Ronaldo who makes it 3-0 from the spot! His penalty is rocketed into the top corner, giving Lafont absolutely no chance despite the goalkeeper guessing correctly.
Match Report
Rodrigo Bentancur and Giorgio Chiellini were unlikely goalscorers with Cristiano Ronaldo also on target as Juventus won 3-0 at Fiorentina to move 11 points clear at the top of Serie A.
Juve were far from their brilliant best in Florence on Saturday but Bentancur's first-half strike set up a fifth straight league win for the defending champions that stretches their lead over Napoli.
Federico Chiesa was guilty of wasting Fiorentina's best opportunities, but Chiellini made no mistake when he was presented with a chance, the defender's header looping in despite Alban Lafont's best efforts.
After Ronaldo converted a late penalty, Juventus collected three points from a trip to Florence that saw vice-president Pavel Nedved condemn graffiti referring to the Heysel disaster outside the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Prior to Cristiano Ronaldo, the last Juventus player able to score at least 10 goals in his first Serie A season after MD14 was John Charles in 1957/58

Something is missing from Juventus. They have some biggest ballers in the world but yet don't play like that. Cuadrado played awful, Dybala was a little better, Cristiano is doing what does best and Manzukic was lost in some parts of the match If you didn't watch this match, you would think that Fiorentina didn't play anything but in fact if they had taken their chances the match score line would have entirely different. Juventus needs to improve if they are to win UCL.

Whoever thinks Serie A is an easy is a novice to football. Rather not say anything cos you clearly don't not well versed in this regard. You must be joking. All these other leagues the way they are now have built their level of competence from Serie A since 80s, 90s & early 2000s when the best players in the world started their careers in Serie A. It may have lost their grip as the toughest league they once were but still they are no easy league. Serie A of the 80s and 90s still remain the most vicious league to date, it was the litmus test for a player to show his greatness. Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga are relatively easy leagues to contest in.
