Former Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic missed a penalty as his Fiorentina side held Juventus to a 1-1 draw in the first game of the weekend in Serie A.
Arkadiusz Milik opened the scoring for the Old Lady in unusual circumstances after just nine minutes when he turned the ball home with his stomach following Filip Kostic's shot-turned cross.
It was the Polish striker's second goal for the club since joining on loan from Marseille a week ago after he also scored after coming off the bench in midweek against Spezia.
But the hosts were level in the 29th minute as Riccardo Sottil played through Christian Kouame, who beat Juve goalkeeper Mattia Perrin at his near post.
There was collective relief for the Viola, who had not scored in 448 minutes of action in either Serie A or the UEFA Conference League.
They could have had another goal on the brink of half-time when they were awarded a penalty as VAR penalised Juventus defender Leandro Paredes for a handball in the box.
But Jovic, who netted just three goals in 51 appearances for Real Madrid before joining Fiorentina this summer, saw his spot-kick tipped onto the post by Mattia Perin.
Juventus only had four shots all game - Milik's goal was the only one on target - and needed Perin to bail them out again late on as he produced a magnificent save to keep out Sofyan Amrabat's effort.
Massimiliano Allegri's team remain unbeaten after the first five Serie A games of the season but have failed to win either of their two away fixtures so far.
Their attentions now turn to the Champions League, as they travel to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.
Fiorentina achieved their highest finish in six years when they placed seventh last season, but they have now not won in four league games since the opening day of the new campaign.

Fiorentina were by far the better side. Gutted they did not win. Juventus play like that this season they won't make top 4

One can never just trust this Juventus in anything at all. so useless
Allegri made them play that way, very useless coach. he even went ahead in his post match conference to say he is satisfied with the way juve played

The stats shows that juve are lucky to leave the pitch with a point, 17 shots to fiorentina while juve only have 4, possession 60% to fiorentina while 40% to juve. let's just face the reality Allegri is not good enough in moving this team forward.
