Fiorentina emerge as another option for Barcelona defender Umtiti

Samuel Umtiti and his camp are doing all they can to have a move lined up so he doesn't have to return for Barcelona training on July 4.

The defender knows he won't get minutes at Barça and is advancing talks to move on loan for a season with an option to make the deal permanent.

Fiorentina are the best placed to sign him at the moment, according to L'Equipe, although there is nothing closed. His agents have also spoken with Lyon, but the offer is inferior.

The former France international was close to moving t Italy last season. He feels the league would suit him and the adaption would be easier than in other leagues.

The key is finding an agreement in which Barça can save a large part of Umtiti's salary and he doesn't have to take a big pay cut. In that sense, Fiorentina's offer could be attractive.

Umtiti's former club Lyon have always been on his mind. The French team have been open to re-signing several players and Lacazzette has made an effort financially to re-join from Arsenal.

Lyon's offer to Umtiti is lower but the relationship with him plays into their favour. There is also interest in Turkey.
