First look at Liverpool kit with gold FIFA Club World Cup winners badge on it

Liverpool have revealed their kit for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers today - complete with a gold badge on it for winning the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Reds were crowned world champions in Qatar earlier this month after beating Flamengo 1-0 in the final.

As a result of that triumph, the club are allowed to sport a special crest that signifies their status as Club World Cup winners.

It will be seen on Champions League shirts for the remainder of this European campaign and the start of next term.

And Jurgen Klopp's side have also been permitted to wear it this afternoon for the Premier League match against Wolves at Anfield.

Premier League rules dictated that an application was required for anything different to be added to registered strips for domestic competition.

Permission was granted for the Reds to add it to their jersey for today's clash.

Speaking about the badge last week, a spokesperson for FIFA told Liverpoolfc.com: "As per the usage guidelines, the winning team can wear the FIFA World Champions Badge from the day it becomes champions up to and including the final of the next edition of the tournament."

They confirmed only the club's first team may display the crest, adding: "The badge may only be used on the current official team playing shirts.

"That means that the FIFA World Champions Badge may not be used on previous [or] historical versions of the team shirts, training jerseys, tracksuits, training tops or any other products."

Liverpool have been drawn against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 in February and March, with the badge set to appear on kits during those matches.
