Eduardo Camavinga's transfer to Real Madrid wasn't the French-based surprise that the fans desired, but it may prove to be a crucial part of building the next great Los Blancos team, and Florian Maurice, Rennes' sporting director, has admitted that the midfielder has joined the biggest club.
With just one year left on his contract with the Ligue 1 club, it was very much in Maurice's interest to sell the prodigious midfielder, but he believes the right move has been made in selling the player to Los Blancos.
"For him, it's fantastic and he deserves it, he has joined the biggest club there is," Maurice explained in a press conference.
"I think Real Madrid will give him the means to become a great player.
"For us, selling a player to Real Madrid is very good, the bonuses depend on many things including Eduardo's participation and the club's success, there is also a small resale percentage."
