Scotland defender Jack Hendry is weighing up a move to Italian side Cremonese.
The Club Brugge centre back will be allowed out on loan after the Belgian side had initially told the 27-year old he could only leave on a permanent deal.
Serie A newboys Cremonese are pushing to get a deal done by Tuesday night and want Hendry to fly to Italy to wrap up a loan with obligation to buy.
Bundesliga side Augsburg have also come in for 6ft 5ins centre back Hendry, who played in the Champions League for Bruges last season but has fallen out of favour with coach Carl Hoefkens.
Bruges have confirmed English Championship sides have also enquired in the last 48 hours after hearing Hendry could leave on loan.
However, Cremonese are in pole position as it stands as they look to sign the former Celtic defender before the deadline.
Hendry only joined the Belgian side last year after he arrived from KV Oostende. He memorably was awarded player of the match in Bruge's 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League group stage last season.
The defender has also won 17 caps for Scotland and previously played for Celtic, Dundee, Wigan and Partick Thistle permanently, while he has also enjoyed loan spells at Shrewsbury, MK Dons and Melbourne City.
Hendry won a league and cup double with Club Brugge last season, but has featured just once so far this year, and has been left out of their squad for their past four league games.
Cremonese are currenly second bottom in Serie A after losing their first three games of the campaign.
