Former Man Utd team-mates Nani and Rooney to be reunited in MLS

Wayne Rooney will come up against a familiar face in the MLS on Sunday in the form of former Manchester United team-mater Nani - and the pair cannot wait.

The pair were together at Old Trafford between 2007 and 2015, with the Portuguese star memorably setting up the former England striker's iconic overhead kick against Manchester City in 2011.

Having left the North West of England for pastures new, both have found themselves in the States.

Rooney is currently in his second season at D.C. United, while Nani has just joined him in the Eastern Conference after signing for Orlando City.

And with the two sides set to face each other this weekend, the latter took to Twitter to express his excitement at the occasion.

'Next Sunday, we will meet again! In this weekend's MLS match I'll be reunited with a long time friend,' he tweeted. 'Waiting for you in Orlando, Wazza!!'

Having seen the message, the former England captain replied: 'See you Sunday mate!'
