Friends of Benzema accused of kidnapping attempt

Football agent Leo D'Souza has reportedly accused two friends of Karim Benzema of an attempt to kidnap him.

The events are alleged to have occurred after an incident in a bar in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, following Paris Saint-Germain's 5-0 win over Lyon on October 7.

This is according to Mediapart, who report that the agent filed a complaint with the police for a kidnap attempt, illegal confinement, arbitrary detention and violence

An investigation into attempted extortion is now said to have been opened.

A debt of 50,000 euros is said to be a possible motive.

Contacted by Mediapart, Benzema's lawyer Sylvain Cormier denounced D'Souza's "lies".
