From Juanfran to Saul... The penalties that sunk Atletico Madrid

Just as in the 2016 Champions League final, Atletico Madrid lost to Real Madrid in a shootout on Sunday night.

This time it was in the Supercopa de Espana final, but there were similarities as Jan Oblak couldn't save any of Real Madrid's efforts and as Los Rojiblancos struck the left upright during the shootout.

In 2016 Juanfran missed the only penalty of the entire shootout by firing too much to the left and hitting the post, while this time Saul missed Atletico's first penalty by hitting the woodwork to his left.

Thomas Partey saw a penalty saved after that, before Kieran Trippier did score one for Atleti.

But that was too little too late as Real Madrid won 4-1 in the shootout.
