Honestly, if Real Madrid really were the ones to call off the transfer, I don't really get it. The Chinese transfer window closes in close to 48 hours. Bale's camp seems pretty clear that they aren't going to accept lower wages. China are the only ones who are going to pay him those wages. I get that they don't want to let him go for free, but I don't see them getting another offer that Bale will accept. They can threaten to bench him the entirety of next season to try and get him to move for lower wages, but if he doesn't move and does get benched, it's just going to be even more difficult for them to sell him next transfer window.
