Timo Werner opened the scoring and Omar Othman put through his own goal in Germany's 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia, where Marco Reus impressed.
Timo Werner gave Joachim Low's men an early lead and Omar Othman's unfortunate own goal undermined Saudi Arabia as they briefly threatened to find a way into the contest.
Marco Reus made his first international start since March 2016 and dazzled during the first half, laying on Werner's opener and linking pleasingly with the RB Leipzig striker and Thomas Muller.
A former Dortmund team-mate of Reus' will enter Russia 2018 under a cloud – Ilkay Gundogan again receiving boos following his meeting with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Fahad Almuwallad and Yahia Alshehri both threatened in attack and Taiseer Aljassam reduced the arrears in the 84th minute after the goalscorer was brought down by Sami Khedira and Marc-Andre ter Stegen saved fellow substitute Mohammed Alsahlawi's penalty.

Korea Japan 2002, I was younger then when I watched the opening game between Germany vs Saudi Arabia that ended 8-0 in favour of Germany. That World Cup, Germany got to final but were beaten by Brazil when Delima Ronaldo scored with his funny hair style. It seams the defending champion (Germany) isn't strong as the team was last World Cup but I can't judge Germany with this result as it is World Cup warm up friendly.

The first 10/15 minutes we were really playing beautifully...... after that midfield was a bit lazy again..... couple of good chance really could be converted into great chances....Good play from Werner and Reus....But Müller being silent is very dangerous for us!! The Saudi GK was busy and a beast the whole match.... couple of great chances and counter attacks from Saudi.....But those long range efforts from them really left me dying😂😂 Anyway...typical friendly form of us...No worries won't affect the results in WC!!
