Harry Maguire will wear the No.5 shirt at Manchester United after being confirmed as the club's latest signing.
Maguire arrives from Leicester City as the world's most expensive defender, for an £80million fee that eclipses the £75million Liverpool paid Southampton for Virgil van Dijk 18 months ago.
After completing a medical at United's Carrington training base over the weekend, United officially confirmed the signing on Monday lunchtime. Bryan Gunn, who works for his agency Triple S, tweeted that Maguire would take the No.5 shirt and the agency also confirmed it on their website.
The 26-year-old follows in the footsteps of famous United names Rio Ferdinand, Ronny Johnsen and Gary Pallister to have worn the No.5 shirt. It is also a number he's worn at previous clubs Hull and Sheffield United, although he wore the No.15 at Leicester.
