The 16-year-old who joined Junkeren in recent days was formerly known as Daniel Are Knutsen whose passion for Leo eventually caught him on the record.
"I wanted to change my name for a long time and Lionel Messi is my biggest idol," he told the Norwegian TV channel VG .
"I want to say I'm doing the best and I can play the same way as him, we have some similarities but my talent is probably not so great", he said.
General manager of the club, Runar Bo Eriksen also takes the thing with humour: "Next goal? CR7!"
