Premier League legend Thierry Henry has joked that former adversary Jamie Carragher is still struggling to catch up with him - almost a decade after the pair last played in the Premier League.
Ex-Liverpool defender Carragher had the unenviable task of trying to thwart Henry on several occasions during their celebrated careers, as Arsenal's record scorer was quick to remind him when they shared punditry duties.
Henry told Sky Sports: 'I missed you guys. I'm happy to be back - [it's been] strange, it's been a long time. [I'm] happy to see Jamie two meters away from me - like in the game.'
There was more good-humoured joshing in store for Reds hero Carragher after the pair had watched his former side win 1-0 at Wolves in the Premier League.
Watching footage of jet-heeled Henry storming past him at his peak, Carragher admitted: 'People still pull me about that now. He went off the pitch. Oh my god.'
They also revisited their most entertaining off-the-pitch incident, when Henry placed a tender hand on Carragher's knee in a TV studio after learning of Brendan Rodgers' dismissal as Liverpool boss in 2015.
As Henry and Carragher descended into uproarious laughter at the clip, presenter David Jones chuckled: 'Jamie practising social distancing with Thierry - before it was a thing.'
Henry won the Premier League and FA Cup twice each with the Gunners between 2007 and 2017. Carragher also lifted the FA Cup twice during a 17-year senior career at Anfield that ended in 2013, failing to win the Premier League but enjoying Champions League glory in 2005.
