Hoeness wants to help local Munich taxi legend Cissé after suffering a stroke

Hoeness wants to do everything he can for Cissé while he’s out of work for an extended period.

Isaak Cissé has become a local legend in Munich, as the 64-year Senegalese-born old has been a taxi driver in the city since the 70’s. During his time as a driver, he’s driven a handful of Bayern Munich players through the city, including Franz Beckenbauer and Bastian Schweinsteiger, among other German celebrities.

Unfortunately, Cissé suffered a stroke this past summer while he was on the job, and was rushed to Schwabing hospital, where the diagnosis was made. He recalled the incident speaking to Bild:

It was dumb of me, but I didn’t know what was wrong. On Knorrstraße I started to black out. I drove in zigzags. I was in the hospital for ten days, then in rehabilitation for four weeks in Bad Tölz. Now I’m in fantastic health!

Cissé is now unable to drive a taxi until at least February 2019, as a precaution for the passengers that could be put into danger if something were to occur again while he’s driving. Not being able to drive has put him in a difficult spot financially, as he’s barely making enough for ends meet with his medical benefits and compensation for his videos in Blickpunkt Sport:

I’m not allowed to drive a taxi until the end of February. I’m responsable it, after all. Then I have to be examined again. I’m financially devastated; I only get €600 in health coverage. That’s not even enough for the rent.

Per Bild, Bayern President Uli Hoeness has already contacted Cissé to try and figure out a way the club can help him:

Uli Hoeneß has now contacted Mr. Cissé and will meet him in the next few days to discuss his situation.

Hoeness and Bayern won’t be able to get him medically cleared before February, but their aim is to try and find a way to improve Cissé’s finacial situation, at least until he’s able to work again. If this does’nt truly exemplify the meaning of Mia San Mia, then I don’t know what does.
