Inter Milan president Steven Zhang paid tribute to the players after last night's Champions League final defeat.
Inter lost 1-0 to Manchester City, running the English giants close.
"I want to congratulate everyone from all parts of Inter," said Zhang. “They all gave 100%."
“And I congratulate City for their excellent season.
“We're proud to have reached the final and played against best. We showed our qualities without fear, regardless of the final result.
“I think the mentality and quality of our players is of a high standard. We're inferior to no one and everyone saw that tonight.
“The players who have had a great season will keep going with us, and we're happy to support them.
“Today we showed that we deserved to be in the final and that we're a very strong team.
“Everyone thought it wouldn't even be a contest.
“We're really proud of the match, but a final always has to have a winner and a loser," he added. “But we're very confident about the foundations we've laid.
“I've learned from football that a winning team needs a mix of youngsters and veterans."

Bro as the @LIVERPOOLIAN_INTER what my Inter brother is saying is pure facts. Zhang and Sunning have tons of debt hence the reason why we are always selling our players. Why do you think Onana is being linked to chelsea after just one season. It’s because clubs know Inter are poor and need to sell. Winning Copa Italia’s and Supacoppa’s is not bad at all but Inter are similar with Liverpool in that we always want the league title more than anything. Why do you think Conte left? Why do you think Hakimi left after one season? Why do you think Onana is being linked to clubs like Chelsea after one season? Clubs around do know that Inter are in a crisis but it’s not talked about enough like Juve. Hell AC Milan probably have the best owners right now with their new American owners (they are not like FSG though…. I think)
Had no Idea about inter crisis... selling is an option, but this team has a good core, if the can bring in some low budget young players n add steam and debt it would be great sincerely.

The guy has actually done great so far but he needs to keep his young players and bring in some energy too. inter has a lot of old players wc you could see grew tired as the game went on... the goal was not because city was better but because inter grew tired. Selling is not a good idea inter is doing just fine.

Steven Zhang should honestly just sell the club to a wealthy owner and move on. Inter need a large amount of investment in the squad and facilities. I want to see Inter and other Italian giants like Milan and Juve to become strong European cup contenders. The Italian FA needs to market Serie A well, so that they bring in more revenue, and improve the quality of football. Italian teams need to become powerhouses in European competitions.
