It's OVER? Real Madrid 'have decided NOT to sign Mbappé next summer' - report

According to Carrusel Deportivo, Real Madrid have decided they will NOT sign Kylian Mbappé next summer.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with Kylian Mbappe for some time now. He rejected them in 2022 in favour of signing a two-year extension at Paris Saint-Germain, although the club’s interest has remained throughout.

That deal that Mbappe signed expires at the end of the season, which has led to increased speculation that the 24-year-old could be set to join Real Madrid next summer as a free agent, which would be a statement signing. However, according to one report at least, this won’t be the case.

Carrusel Deportivo say that Real Madrid have decided against signing Mbappe next summer, citing “sporting, economic and social reasons” for the club’s decision to pass on signing the French superstar.

- High salary and signing bonus demands

- He would be 26 years old in 2024, and the club wants to focus on younger signings like Endrick and Camavinga recently

At this stage, it would be bizarre for Real Madrid to give up on signing Mbappe. He wouldn’t cost a penny in terms of a transfer fee, and although his wages would be extortionate, the club can afford to pay them. It will be interesting to say how this situation develops in the next few weeks.
