Championship stars Ivan Toney and Max Aarons will reject any approaches to represent Jamaica because they believe they can achieve England call-ups, Sportsmail can reveal.
Toney and Aarons have been two of the standout players in the Championship this season and have been key figures in Brentford and Norwich's promotion pushes.
Sportsmail reported on Wednesday that Jamaica were plotting an audacious move to try and persuade 15 English stars to switch their international allegiance.
Toney and Aarons are two players they would be keen to call up, but Sportsmail understands that Jamaica are now not pursuing them with both players determined to break into the England fold.
Both Toney and Aarons, who were born in England, have not played a competitive match for the Three Lions at senior level, meaning they would still be eligible to play for Jamaica because of family ties to the country.
Norwich defender Aarons, 21, has been a regular starter for England Under 21s since 2019 but will face stiff competition to get into Gareth Southgate's squad ahead of this summer's Euro 2020 finals, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and Kieran Trippier currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
Aarons has yet to receive a senior call-up but will be in Southgate's thinking with his performances over the past 24 months attracting serious interest from Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Tottenham.
The defender helped Norwich claim a crucial victory over Brentford to move 10 points clear at the top of the Championship table on Wednesday evening on what was a rare off night for Toney.
The 24-year-old, who has never represented the Three Lions at any youth level, has enjoyed a prolific season and is the Championship's top scorer with 25 goals.
Toney is in a similar position to Aarons and faces a huge task to force his way into the England set-up ahead of the Euros despite his good form, with Harry Kane, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tammy Abraham Southgate's preferred options for the central striker role.
He is also likely to be behind Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings in Southgate's estimation, with those two strikers performing impressively in the Premier League this season.
Toney, who has interest from several Premier League clubs and may well be playing in the top flight next season with Brentford, however, is still hopeful of getting a senior call-up in the near future.
Meanwhile, his Championship counterparts Kasey Palmer, Liam Moore, Ethan Pinnock, Andre Gray, Amari'i Bell, Rolando Aarons and Jamal Lowe are set to switch their international allegiance from England to Jamaica.
Aside from Reading defender Moore, who already has his Jamaican passport, the aforementioned players, as well as Rangers' Kemar Roofe, are in the process of acquiring theirs, which if approved will give them a license to play for Jamaica.
West Ham striker Michail Antonio has also confirmed his interest in representing Jamaica in a bid to play in the 2022 World Cup after being repeatedly snubbed for England game-time.
Antonio, who has netted seven times in the Premier League this season, is the most high-profile player set to switch allegiance.
The 30-year-old initially turned down the chance to represent Jamaica in 2016 and was later called up to England squads by Sam Allardyce and Southgate but did not make his debut.
He is now expected to accept Jamaica's latest approach with their Football Federation hoping he will be available for the CONCACAF qualifiers in September against Mexico and Costa Rica, despite West Ham boss David Moyes urging him not to give up on an England call-up
Everton have also been contacted about defender Mason Holgate representing Jamaica but the Jamaican Football Federation (JFF) have not yet received a response.
