Jude Bellingham has insisted he intends to remain at Borussia Dortmund next season despite interest from Europe's elite.

The England international joined the Bundesliga side in 2020 on a £25million transfer from his boyhood club Birmingham City and has swiftly established himself as one of Europe's most promising young players.

Bellingham has impressed with his performances for Dortmund, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists this season, garnering renewed links to Manchester United and Liverpool.

However, the Premier League giants are set to be disappointed as Bellingham appeared to pledge his future to the German side.

In an interview with German publication Ruhr Nachrichten, he said: 'The only future I think of is the next game for Dortmund.

'I'm really looking forward to next season. I can't wait for it to finally start. But yes, I'll be here next season, and I'll be ready.'

He added: 'I have my destiny in my own hands and know that I can develop further if I make an effort and trust the people around me.

'I came from England as the young talent. There wasn't much pressure. The first season went well. There were also games where I sat on the bench and sometimes didn't play at all.

'I think my development this year has meant that I've played a bigger role in every game except two. I'm really grateful to Dortmund for how they nurtured my talent.

'I think a lot of the credit goes to the coaching staff and the staff who keep the hype around me low. So I can just focus on winning games, because that's what I'm here for.'

While Bellingham appears to be committing his future to the club, Dortmund have already lost a bright, young talent before summer in Erling Haaland.

Manchester City confirmed they had reached an agreement to sign the 21-year-old from the Bundesliga side for £51million earlier this week.

Bellingham admitted he will miss his team-mate but insisted City were lucky to have secured his services.

'I told him that I am very happy for him that he can take the next step on his way as a footballer,' he said.

'He's a brilliant player, a brilliant guy. That's what I'll miss the most. He's a really good character. I think City are very lucky to get a player like that.

'And as far as our team is concerned next season, I think new opportunities are opening up.

'We have exciting new signings with Karim Adeyemi, Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle and I'm really excited to see what the club will build up for next season. I have full confidence in the club.'
