Danny Mills has hit out at Jurgen Klopp and claimed the Liverpool boss is overrated as a coach.
Klopp has enjoyed a glittering nine years at Anfield since replacing Brendan Rodgers in October 2015.
He has won every single trophy apart from the Europa League - and many have compared him to great Liverpool managers of the past such as Bob Paisley and Bill Shankly, while several others have dubbed him as one of the best top flight managers of all-time.
In January he shocked the footballing world when he announced his intention to depart Anfield at the end of the season, admitting he is 'running out of energy', and the German has received significant acclaim since.
However, former England and Man City defender Danny Mills disagreed with the praise for Klopp and insisted his achievements are inferior to other managers.
In an intense debate on talkSPORT about the Reds boss with fellow presenter Hugh Woozencroft, Mills said: 'He's won one Premier League in nine years.'
Woozencroft bit back at Mills and pointed to the impact Klopp has had in transforming Liverpool, along with the fact he has helped them to compete with Pep Guardiola's record-breaking Man City side.
But Mills was unconvinced, highlighting Liverpool's five trophyless seasons out of the past eight, and added: 'But he came second. Claudio Ranieri won the league. Managers have come into Chelsea and won it in their first season.
'They've been there like two seasons and won a Premier League. If you're going to go down and go what's better...'
Woozencroft continued to sing Klopp's praises and mentioned Liverpool's Premier League title win in 2019-20, outlining the Reds had never won it before Klopp.
Mills retorted: 'Blackburn hadn't done it when they did, Leicester hadn't done it, Chelsea hadn't done it when Mourinho came in.'
Woozencroft took the Chelsea example and argued that came after a significant spend in the transfer market, while he also pointed to how Blackburn were bankrolled by local businessmen Jack Walker, before Mills interjected and said: 'Hang on a minute.
'Liverpool have spent their fair share. Liverpool have been fortunate they've sold players for lots of money.
'When you look at Coutinho, what a ridiculous fee that was. £120million... he never played for Barcelona.
'So they've spent money and their wages are ridiculously high. Mo Salah's on what, £400-500,000-a-week.
'Thiago came in, they've got lots of big players on big money, they've spent money.
'Klopp has been very very good but he's not in the realms of Guardiola. He's won one Premier League...'

when you talk truth people gone, always criticised you for speaking your mind/truth....liverpool hadn't won the epl in 30years before klopp arrived...when klopp came in he won 1epl title in what 9_10years....so if he was still gone be there he might have took them a next 15_20_30years before they won a next one....so mr.mills you are right and I think that's one of the reasons that push him to wanna leave now....cause when he look across to PEP he sees where PEP has won 5epl in 6seasons and he knows he is not gone get near that no time so it's best he just pack his bags and go now lol

British boys are very very notorious in criticizing every other people except their brothers. Can someone name one English manager who ever dominated other countries league except their comfort zone. He said Klop won only one premier league but forgot the Klop finished above 90 points on two separate occasion only to be denied by Gladiola's Juggernaut. Klop has won everything for Liverpool abeg
