Harry Kane has become the 'face of Bayern Munich' according to club legend Lothar Matthaus.

The England captain has made a huge impact at the Bundesliga giants since his £100m move from Tottenham during the summer transfer window.

He could be on for a record-breaking season, after already netting 24 goals in 21 appearances this campaign.

Kane is set to be joined in Germany by his wife Kate and their four children, something which Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel believes could lead to him producing even higher level of performances going forward.

Bayern legend Matthaus meanwhile has claimed that Kane has already become a 'great ambassador' for the Bavarian side.

He told Sky Sports: 'He is so well, very well – not only on the pitch, he is the face of Bayern Munich.

'It’s not only in Germany, he is good for the Bundesliga, to make us internationally more present, get more interest.

'Harry is a really good transfer, we are very happy. He has scored now in 15 games, he has scored 20 goals in the Bundesliga, top scorer.

'He is very close with the fans, he is good with the media – he gives the interviews. He is a great ambassador, we cannot have a better ambassador from England than Harry Kane at this moment.'

Kane is finally set to be joined in Germany by Kate and their four children - Ivy, 6, Vivienne, 5, Louis, 2, and Henry, born on August 20 this year.

The England striker had been living by himself in a £10,000-per-night suite since he joined the Bundesliga club, with reports last month that he had already spent £1m at Munich's Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Hotel.

Kane though found a luxury villa for the family to live in - based in a small town south of Munich which is just under 10 miles from Bayern's training ground.

This ensures there will be plenty of room for the family of six, as well as Kane's brother and agent Charlie, his parents Kim and Pat, and his two grandmothers when they come to visit.

Bayern boss Tuchel expects Kane's performances to get even better once his family join him in Munich.

'He's a real family man, you can feel the difference when they’re around,' he said last month.

Kane joined Bayern in the pursuit of trophies after failing to win one during his time at Tottenham.

Bayern are currently four points off Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, albeit, with a game in hand.

They are also one of the favourites to win the Champions League, and have drawn mid-table Italian side Lazio in the Round of 16.
