Klopp clashes with TV reporter, saying: 'Prepare your job better'

Jurgen Klopp ranted at another TV reporter after Liverpool's 4-1 loss to Manchester City on Sunday by telling an Israeli sports journalist he should 'prepare for your job better.'

Klopp's Reds were humbled 4-1 at Anfield by Pep Guardiola's side to leave them ten points behind league leaders City - who also have a game in hand.

When questioned about the margin between Liverpool and City by reporter Niv Dovrat of Israeli TV station Sport 1, Klopp angrily claimed the journalist wasted a question by asking about Liverpool's title chances this season.

Klopp told Dovrat: 'I really think you should prepare your job better to be honest. How can you ask that?

'They are 13 points away, in my understanding, and these questions about becoming champions - do you really think that's appropriate at the moment.

'We have only two questions and you waste one for that. Your fault, you had only two questions.'

Klopp then insisted that Dovrat was not allowed to ask anything else as his two allocated questions were used up, before eventually giving in to claim the Reds were thinking about a top-four finish.

The German manager added: 'I think they (City) are running away. That (fighting for top four) is obvious. We will try to do that.'

Journalist Dovrat defended his questions to Klopp on Monday morning and branded the Reds boss' angry response as 'unusual'.

He tweeted: 'I have interviewed the Liverpool manager dozens of times over the past few years. Last night, I was exposed to a different and unusual response.

'Looking back, I think the style, manner and tone of the question were appropriate. The manager disagreed with me.'

Klopp also clashed with Sky Sports' Geoff Shreeves on Sunday night after the match by criticising the reporter's gaze while the Reds manager described his side's performance.

'In the end when you lose 4-1, it's not our day but big parts of the game were brilliant from our side.

'Really good football, I see in your (Geoff Shreeves') eyes you see it differently.

'I really liked it, we were playing really good football against City which means you are in the game. The possession was not like what it was usually with City.'

Shreeves insisted that he was simply 'looking intently' at Klopp after the Liverpool manager was prickly towards him.

It is not the first time Klopp has clashed with Shreeves this week, with the German manager criticising the reporter's questioning of Liverpool's title chances before the Manchester City clash.

When Shreeves asked Klopp whether it was still possible for the champions to retain their crown, despite the significant margin between his and Guardiola's side, the Liverpool boss wasted no time in firing back.

'I don't understand you, honestly,' Klopp said. The only thing you want to talk about all the time now is us becoming champions.

'Can you imagine... have you ever been the best sports commentator in the world? Do you think it's still possible? Just try it.

'We try. But if I say it's possible, or it's not possible, then we have another headline.

'Why would we do that? Let's talk about a situation. If we are not interested then I don't understand why we talk.

'I'm not angry at all, I just don't understand why the whole interview goes about us becoming champions again.
