Jurgen Klopp has explained the half-time changes that helped Liverpool edge nearer their first championship in 30 years.
The Reds came from behind to earn a 26th win in 27 Premier League games this season with a 3-2 triumph over West Ham United at Anfield on Monday.
Liverpool, who are again 22 points clear at the summit, struggled in the first half despite taking an early lead.
And Klopp has revealed the dressing-room discussions that helped his side extend their unbeaten league run to 44 games.
“West Ham knew they had two proper ways to stay in the game - second balls and set-pieces, both were not good (from us) tonight,” said the Reds boss.
“Losing the first ball is possible because (Michail) Antonio and later (Sebastian) Haller were just too good, you can't win all the balls.
“But the second ball, we had to pick up better. The formation was not good. We showed the boys at half-time.
“West Ham were really good at set-pieces, we were not too clear in those situations. That's how they scored their first goal.
“They got a little bit of momentum, we were still in charge and had the ball, but our finishes weren't on target. It's difficult to change things in this moment.
“We tried to change in half-time with different formations. We showed them two very good football situations, where we were in and around the ball and did what we had to do, playing easy simple and quick.”
Klopp also believes the introduction of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Naby Keita shortly after the break made a positive difference to Liverpool's performance.
“We needed direction, and Oxlade came on,” he added. “His first action was a shot, his next one was dribbling when really he was fouled.
“The dynamic helped. If you get that direction in the game, our people appreciate that obviously. That helped.”

keita must be sold or change the jersey # 8 coz he can't fit in it as what I demands. he has terribly failed. myb the height is disadvantaging him.
I really believe hendo deserves 8 when he returns, it's the position he plays in. And he has been a prolific captain
