Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has responded to speculation linking Xherdan Shaqiri with a move to Roma or Sevilla by reiterating that he has “no intention” of selling the Swiss international or any of his squad during the January transfer window.
Former Stoke City man Shaqiri has been restricted to a bit-part role for the Reds so far this season.
Despite scoring against Everton in a 5-2 win at Anfield in December in his only full game of the campaign, the 28-year-old's only other start came in the 2-0 home victory over Watford later that month with his other four Premier League outings totalling just 15 minutes of action in substitute cameo appearances.
With Shaqiri eager to play on a more regular basis, he has reportedly attracted attention from both La Liga and Serie A where he briefly played for Inter in 2015 before his switch to England.
However, Klopp insisted that Liverpool do not want to part with Shaqiri or any of their senior players this month.
He said: “We had the majority of December and January with a bench full of kids. Wonderful kids, but kids.
“So how could we think about giving a player to anybody? I don't understand that.
“It's not about Shaq or whatever, it's about pretty much everybody. We have to keep them for sorting our situation and not the situation for different clubs.
“If somebody would come around the corner and ask properly but that didn't happen.
“Then maybe, if they are desperate or whatever then we think but there is absolutely no intention from our side to do anything.”

Klopp is such a good manager, he wants all his current players to but part of the team that will lift the first PL in 30yrs & maybe defend(win) the UCL for the second time. Klopp isn't just a coach or manager but a parent to all the liverpool players

better to stay at Liverpool and become a member of EPL winning squad rather than going elsewhere and winning nothing and who knows there is still UCL,FA Cup also to be played

I dont see why he wanna go anywhere else... he is too injury prone .. he aint gonna play more than 10-12 games in a team due to his injuries... why cant he stay here .. be part of something big.. n give the best when called upon..🧐
