Arsenal news as Leeds United make the trip to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon looking to derail the Gunners Premier League title ambitions
Arsenal will welcome Leeds United to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday in their first game back from the international break. The Gunners will look to take another step to their first Premier League title in 19 years with their 23rd win of the season.
Leeds are 14th in the table, two points above the relegation zone. Javi Gracia's side created breathing space between themselves and the bottom three before the break with a 4-2 victory over Wolves.
With ten games left to play, both sides are fighting at either end of the league table. Arsenal are clear favourites to come out on top in north London and Leeds have been dealt a blow ahead of the game.
Adams suffered the injury in training earlier in the month, forcing him to withdraw from the USMNT squad for their CONCACAF Nations League wins over Grenada and El Salvador. The 24 year-old has been one of Leeds' most consistent performers this campaign and will be a huge miss in midfield.
The former RB Leipzig man joins Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw as Gracia's confirmed absentees. Dallas hasn't played a minute of competitive football since fracturing his femur last April whilst Forshaw has suffered a number of knocks throughout the season.
There will also be late fitness tests on Wilfried Gnonto and Maximillian Wober. Gnonto limped out in the 22nd minute of Italy's UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match with Malta. "Gnonto is dealing with a sprain, I hope it is nothing to worry about," Italy coach Roberto Mancini said.
Defender Wober also picked up a knock on international duty with Austria last week. The 25 year-old appeared to pick up a thigh issue in the first half of Austria's win over Azerbaijan - resulting in him missing the qualifier against Estonia.
Both players have returned to Leeds' Thorp Arch training ground this week and further assessment will be made ahead of their trip to north London on Saturday.
