Thomas Lemar was one of the surprise names in Diego Simeone's line-up for Tuesday's Champions League game against Liverpool, but he could only play the first 45 minutes.
After that, the Frenchman had to come off and Simeone later revealed that it was because of muscle spasms.
On Wednesday, he went for medical tests to learn the extent of this issue.
It should become clear by Friday if he'll be available or not for Sunday's LaLiga Santander match against Villarreal.
