The draw took Barca into second place in the standings on 76 points, one behind leaders Atletico Madrid and one ahead of third-placed Real Madrid, who both have a game in hand.
Lionel Messi put a dominant Barca in front after 26 minutes and then played a part in Pedri tapping in their second goal in the 34th after a sweeping team move.
Levante got a foothold in the game with a header from Gonzalo Melero in the 57th and talismanic forward Jose Luis Morales equalised three minutes later.
Ousmane Dembele restored Barca's lead in the 64th and looked to have sent Ronald Koeman's side provisionally top of the standings but Levante came back at them and equalised again when striker Sergio Leon netted at the near post in the 83rd.
Atletico can go four points clear of the Catalans with victory at home to Real Sociedad on Wednesday, while Real Madrid visit Granada on Thursday.

Pedri has always been the sloppiest and the slowest player in the team. He makes one or two good passes but the referee runs faster than him. I miss Coutinho for that spot. Defence would have been better if Koeman wouldn't have changed his tactics in every game, which is why the young and less experienced defenders like Dest/mingueza/araujo makes silly mistakes. Lenglet will get back soon maybe next season but I trust him though little confused of Koeman everyday changing tactics. All we need is a number 9. Greizmann ain't the answer. Pique,Greizmann,Pjanic is done. Pedri needs to go out on loan to learn and Xavi as a manager is the ultimate story. Xavi simons was a big mistake for Barca. That kid is gifted. But no club is going to invest big money into players this summer. No big signing this summer. Every club has a financial issue due to this motherfucking COVID. Big players stay where you are.

Koeman must take full responsibility of this loss. What is that line up and changes after HT. Sergi cannot even defend well at RB. Araujo gave the support for Dembele in first half since he isn't aproper RB as well. Second half its Sergi + Dembele from the right. Cannot blame Dembele but sergi is really poor in defence. De Jong should have played at CB in second half. Even a child could have understand that. All 3 goals of levente came from Right side attacks. Koman was too arrogant to chane the tactics even after second time lead and still didn't remove sergi from CB position. Koeman may be agood coach, but his tactical abilities must be questioned!!!
