Liverpool maintained their slim hopes of securing Champions League football next season with a 4-3 win over Tottenham at Anfield thanks to Diogo Jota's late strike.

Jurgen Klopp's side came out of the blocks fast and were rewarded with the lead after three minutes when Mohamed Salah laid the ball to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who cross into the back post for Curtis Jones to finish.

Liverpool maintained the pressure and doubled their lead two minutes later as Cody Gakpo managed to keep the ball in play on the right for Luis Diaz to get his first goal since returning from a long layoff.

Mohamed Salah made it three in the 15 minute mark, converting from the penalty spot after Gakpo was brought down by Cristian Romero.

Harry Kane got on the scoresheet six minutes before the break, lashing in a half volley from a cross by son Heung-min. The South Korean forward then put Ryan Mason's side within touching distance.

Substitute Richarlison got Spurs on level terms with a header in the third minute of injury-time but Jota secured the three points for Liverpool with a finish from a tight angle just a minute later.
