Jurgen Klopp has guided Liverpool to another Champions League final after Tuesday's come-from-behind 3-2 win at Villarreal - and in doing so, broken a 36-year club scoring record.
The Reds booked their place in the final in Paris but not before a bout of the jitters as the Spaniards ran riot, taking a two-goal lead into the half-time break.
But Liverpool hit back with three second-half goals and made history in the process by breaking a record set in the 1985/86 season of scoring 139 goals in a single season - an average of 2.44 goals per game.
In a 12-minute blitz, Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane struck to turn the tie on it's head on a night to forget for Villarreal goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, who was at fault for all three goals.
It was Mane's composed finish that officially made Klopp's side the most prolific in the club's history and with six games left to play in all competitions this season, Liverpool could significantly add to their whopping tally.
The club's previous season-best tally (138) was recorded in 1986 under the leadership of Kenny Dalglish.
Mohamed Salah has set the tone for a prolific season with the Egyptian chipping in with 30 goals, whilst Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota have both netted 21 times in all competitions.
Four league games remain as Klopp's side aim to claw back Manchester City's one-point advantage and pip them to the title, whilst Liverpool have also booked themselves a date with Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
Should they repeat their Premier League title success of 2020 and overcome Thomas Tuchel's side then Klopp would be a Champions League triumph away from winning an unprecedented quadruple, after already securing the Carabao Cup in February.
Liverpool have become the first English come to reach the final of the EFL Cup, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season.
Klopp is now into his fourth Champions League final having lost two with Borussia Dortmund (2013) and Liverpool (2017) but the German will be hoping for similar scenes to his 2019 final success against Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.

Klop is exactly like Arteta. Remember the Wolves 3-2 result when Pepe and Lacazette scored within seconds? So whenever you mention Klop you must also mention Arteta or Arsenal somewhere.

No, Liverpool will not proceed, the match will go into extra time and then penalty, if the scoreline is still 3-3 aggregate, The reason is that there is no away goal rule in this season UEFA Champion league.
