Liverpool 'eye Fabian Ruiz transfer' amid Man Utd, Madrid and Barca interest

Liverpool have reportedly placed Fabian Ruiz at the top of their transfer wishlist and are ready to battle Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona for the Napoli ace.

Central midfielder Ruiz is contracted to Napoli until 2023, but the Serie A side are keen to tie him down to a new deal following interest from some of Europe's top clubs.

However, the 23-year-old's agent Alvaro Torres has said Ruiz won't make a decision on his future until the end of the season as he waits to see how Napoli's campaign pans out.

The club sacked Carlo Ancelotti as manager earlier this season and replaced him with Gennaro Gattuso.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made Ruiz his top target for the summer transfer window, according to the Express.

And Ruiz, who is also on Bayern Munich's radar, has a big decision to make.

“There have been many changes in the club this season, it’s been a difficult year for Napoli,” said the player's agent in quotes reported by the Express.

Asked about negotiations over a new deal, Torres said: "A renewal? We have set aside negotiations for a while, until the end of the season.

"There are very important clubs that have asked for information, and we have already informed Napoli. There is no release clause in his current contract. I really don’t know what Ruiz’s value is at present.”

Football stats site Transfermarkt estimates Ruiz's value to be £54million, although reports have suggested Napoli value him at £74m.

It remains to be seen when the current football season will be completed amid the coronavirus pandemic that has brought sport across Europe to a standstill.

The Premier League will not resume until April 30 at the earliest - but it will likely be later than that as the virus continues to spread around the UK.
