Liverpool fans go mad for Alisson after his stunning save at the death vs Napoli

There's just something about European nights at Anfield.

No matter the scale of the task, Liverpool always seem to find a way - history will tell you that.

Through the years the club have experienced a number of special moments in Europe and on Tuesday night they etched another one into the book.

They needed to win and Mohamed Salah came up with the goods by scoring the only goal as Liverpool beat Napoil 1-0 to seal their passage into the next round of the Champions League at the expense of the Italians, who now head into the Europa League.

But perhaps this game will not be best remembered for Salah's heroics, but for Alisson's at the other end.

Arkadiusz Milik, one of Napoli's substitutes, suddenly found the ball at his feet inside the six-yard box, two minutes into stoppage time, ready to pull the trigger and rip up the script.

But there was Allison, rushing off his line and spreading his body to block the shot and ensure there would be no late twist in this story.

'The save of the season,' Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp called it. 'I have no clue how he made that save.'

The Liverpool supporters were just as appreciative and amazed by the Brazilian and took to social media to express their delight.

One fan wrote: 'Alisson Becker best goalkeeper in the world.' Another user said: 'Europa League was calling, but Alisson was bigger.'

Some fans were even comparing the Brazilian to The Matrix and joked he could save Brexit.
