Liverpool have given fans a Christmas treat by releasing a new limited edition 'blackout shirt for the 2018-19 season as part of the club's 'This Means More' campaign.

The campaign aims brings to life the very essence of what it means to be a Red.

As suggested by the name, it is an entirely black version of the current home kit, complete with black details and trimmings.

The top includes a stitched '96' on the back of the neck in memory of those who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster.

Designers New Balance have given it a tipped two-button polo collar to achieve what they described as a 'lifestyle look', making it even more wearable for fans.

The linear jacquard stripes on the front of the shirt inspired by the landmark architecture of the redeveloped Main Stand.

However, supporters will have to dig into their pockets to get their hands on one, the shirt costing £75 on the club's official club website.

It will never be worn by the team on the pitch so will serve as more of a collector's item for those who did purchase one.
