Thiago Alcantara has removed 'Liverpool FC' from his bio on Instagram, sparking concern amongst supporters about his future at the club.
The midfielder has been a Liverpool player for almost three years following his move from Bayern Munich, and there have bene suggestions that he will depart when his contract expires next summer.
However, some Liverpool fans now fear that Thiago will be departing the club sooner.
Twitter user Anything Liverpool spotted the change in Thiago's Instagram bio but noted that he still mentioned the club in his Twitter bio.
One Liverpool fan reacted by writing: 'I can't take this pain'.
Another added: 'Damn now I'm heart broken'.
One fan wrote: 'NOOO PLEASE'.
Meanwhile, another wrote: 'Please don't go.'
One supporter wrote: 'Kinda saddened by this'.
Since his arrival at Liverpool, Thiago has made 97 appearances, while he has scored three goals and provided six assists.
He won the FA Cup in 2022, scoring in the penalty shoot-out as Liverpool prevailed against Chelsea.
However, Thiago has spent a lot of time out injured since joining Liverpool - last season he was restricted to just 18 Premier League appearances as he struggled with hamstring and hip problems.
Liverpool have made a busy start to the transfer window, bringing in midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister from RB Leipzig and Brighton respectively.
If Thiago does remain at Liverpool then it remains to be seen how significant a part he would play for Jurgen Klopp's side next season.
