Andriy Lunin has made a plea for Spanish people to help Ukraine, following the Russian invasion of his home country.
Lunin, who has been left out of Real Madrid's LaLiga Santander match against Rayo Vallecano, is from Kharkov in Ukraine, which is less than 50 kilometres from the Russian border.
"Dear Spanish people and everyone who wants to help Ukraine during these difficult times, in Calle Mendez Alvaro No.8, Ucramarket, from 11:00 until 17:00 they need tinned food, cotton wool, elastic bands, bandages, medical gauze, painkillers (Ibuprofen, Aspirin), clothes, warm socks," wrote Lunin on his Instagram story.
The 23-year-old has also shared an image which stated to "stop the war", as well as promoting a peaceful demonstration against the invasion that will take place at the Plaza de Colon in Madrid on Sunday at 12:00 local time.
Lunin out of Real Madrid squad
Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on Lunin's well being and he has ultimately been left out of Los Blancos' squad for the short trip to play Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening.
"War is nothing but horror," coach Carlo Ancelotti told the press earlier this week.
"Lunin is very worried because some of the people close to him live near Kyiv, I think his mother is there.
"Understandably, he's not as upbeat as he usually is. Training sessions are helping a little for him to take his mind off things.
"Both myself and the president have spoken to him. We want him to know that the whole club is behind him."
