Manchester City suffered a dent to their Premier League title ambitions but salvaged a point late on against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

Raheem Sterling put Chelsea ahead in the first half but did not celebrate against his former club.

Chances went begging for Erling Haaland and it looked as if Chelsea might cling on to a win with City profligate in front of goal.

But Rodri found the breakthrough after 83 minutes to give Pep Guardiola's side a point and spare them a first defeat since December 6.

The Premier League champions had a last-minute penalty shout when the ball bounced off Levi Colwill's arm but the VAR check did not result in a spot kick.

City are four points behind front-runners Liverpool with a game in hand while Chelsea are tenth.
