If Manchester City fans were not angry enough about the VAR decision that saw Gabriel Jesus' late winner against Tottenham ruled out, they should not look at the highlights of Newcastle's draw with Watford on Saturday.
City were denied a last-gasp winner against Tottenham earlier this month as Aymeric Laporte was adjudged to have handled the ball as he flicked on a corner to Jesus who fired home.
Laporte's action was not intentional, but under new rules this season any handball that leads to a goal is penalised. The decision was incredibly harsh, but technically correct.
So imagine the frustration when a similar goal was not ruled out in Saturday's Premier League fixtures, as Newcastle earned a draw against Watford.
Fabian Schar pounced on a knockdown from Isaac Hayden, but replays showed the ball came off Hayden's arm. Despite that, the goal was not ruled out by VAR.
Fans also noticed a VAR review that failed to send off Leicester's Youri Tielemans despite a high studs-up challenge on Bournemouth's Callum Wilson.
It is the second time that City have seen goals awarded elsewhere that resemble decisions awarded against them. Jesus saw another goal ruled out from an extremely tight VAR call against Raheem Sterling on the opening day at West Ham, yet a week later Wolves survived a VAR review for an almost identical offside call.
This is how fans of City - and other clubs - reacted to the latest inconsistency involving VAR:

The English FA has planned to robbed Man City of the title in any form or manner just to give it to Liverpool. They are gonna do anything to make sure Liverpool win the league but the good thing is that it will be difficult becuz City is too good for the league. You all saw that last season, all the pundits in England were talking about Liverpool and not Man City who were incredible above everybody....
