Manchester United are showing a surprise interest in Middlesbrough winger Marcus Tavernier.

The 19-year-old has been watched by the Old Trafford club's scouts in recent weeks as they consider bolstering options for their U23 squad.
The England U20 international has been in and out of the starting line-up for Boro manager Tony Pulis this season.
He has made 11 appearances for the Championship outfit, in which he has scored three goals.
Tavernier, who is left-footed, made eight appearances for Boro last season before spending time on loan at MK Dons.
Gareth Southgate invited Tavernier to train with the full England squad in September after Adam Lallana and Raheem Sterling picked up injuries.
