Manchester United transfer target Antony watched the Red Devils secure a superb 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Monday night.

Goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford helped to secure Erik ten Hag’s first Premier League win as United manager to relieve the pressure on the Dutchman and lift the club off the bottom of the table.

And the Brazilian winger, who has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, after United had an initial £67.8million bid rejected, observed his potential future teammates from home.

His brother and agent Emerson Santos posted a photo of the pair watching the game, while Antony shared a snap of them on the sofa with the caption ‘Meu fechamento’, which can be translated as ‘the one who completes me’.

After United formally unveiled new £70m signing Casemiro to the Old Trafford faithful on Monday night, Ten Hag is keen to add three more players to his squad before the window slams shut on September 1.

Along with Antony, PSV forward Cody Gakpo and summer transfer target Frenkie de Jong are on the Dutchman’s wish list and the Ajax star’s snaps on social media are only likely to increase the speculation surrounding his potential arrival at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old missed Ajax’s 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday after he trained alone in the week following news of United making a £67.8million bid.

But their manager Alfred Schreuder has demanded the club resist any more offers for the Brazilian.

Antony excelled under Ten Hag when the pair were together in Amsterdam and last week hailed the influence of the Dutchman on his career.

Antony told Dutch paper de Telegraaf: 'Erik has been super important to me. I will always cheer for Erik after working so closely together.

When asked whether he could guarantee his stay with Ajax beyond the summer, he added: 'No, to be perfectly honest, I can't.

'Now I am focusing on playing football and have put all other matters in the hands of my agents and my brother. They will advise me on what is best.

Despite last night’s superb win, the last days of the transfer window promise to be busy for United as Ten Hag looks to build upon Monday’s result.
