Manchester City are a point ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League after Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane downed Manchester United.
Match Report
Second-half goals form Bernardo Silva and substitute Leroy Sane gave Manchester City a 2-0 derby triumph over Manchester United as Pep Guardiola's men edged back ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League title race.
Following a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made five changes to the United XI and he was rewarded with an enterprising first-half display.
But PFA Player of the Year nominee Silva broke the deadlock in the 54th minute and Sane gave the off-colour David de Gea another moment to forget 12 minutes later.
City are a point ahead of Liverpool, knowing victories in their final three games will guarantee back-to-back titles and complete two-thirds of an unprecedented domestic treble.

54' GOAL! Man Utd 0-1 Man City (Bernardo Silva)
The defending champions open the scoring at Old Trafford through Bernardo Silva. The Portugal forward takes Gundogan's pass in his stride, carries the ball into the box and beats De Gea at his near post.
De Gea perhaps could have done better but that is a good finish near the bottom corner.
55' OFF THE POST! Aguero almost scores
City are looking well on top now. A couple of minutes after opening the scoring, Aguero curls an effort against the outside of the post from 20 yards following some impressive link-up play in the final third.
58' WHAT A CHANCE missed by Lingard!
Walker panics at the back post and allows Rashford to lift the ball across goal. Kompany completely misses the ball but so to does Lingard, who has an empty net to aim for five yards out. That has to go down as a sitter.
66' GOAL! Man Utd 0-2 Man City (Sane)
Fred passes the ball straight to Kompany, who plays the ball into the feet of Sterling. The winger finds Sane, who blasts the ball right at De Gea.
It looks like being a simple one for the keeper to deal with, but he cannot keep it out with his leg and it ends up in the back of the net.

Vindication after vindication,Jose Mourinho kept saying these players don't even know how it means playing for big team like Man U.Our hearts were full of hatred hence we didn't understand him.We only labelled him a looser. We game him many names but today you can agree wit me that the special one was right. Mourinho kept criticising these players for their lack of passion and we called him unprofessional, but today you can agree wit me that there's no any single player here who knows or understand how it is like to be a man u player. We have remembered all what you said Mr Mourinho.

ole is trying to institute the United way..in order for that to happen, I count at least 8 players on the pitch who simply cannot play that way...the only way this gets turned around is if the Glazers give ole the time they were not willing to give Moyes, Louis, or Jose. it takes time to build what city have right now which ironically what united used to be. everyone needs to remember what city was like before pep came along...not great. GGMU and lets get up for the blues

The Manchester Derby has shifted. Man united used to be the fierce of the two sides. Right now the only thing holding man united is the club name MANCHESTER UNITED. Everyone knew the winner even before the game began. I guess Ole is gonna apologize to the fans and promise a good performance a against Chelsea.

That was very poor defending from the utd defenders !!! How could you gave so much space on both goals . The first goal , I just cant believe it !!!! three united players step back instead of trying to stop David Silva!!!!!! He had the time and space to penetrate in the box and score . The defenders were running , but non got near David Silva. Its three players for united who couldnt stop silva !!!!! The second goal was more even poorly defended ! .same got the ball on his own with so much space to run for the ball with no one defending and being so far from him ? where were the defenders ? what were they doing? How come Anne was allowed with so much space ? it could be a counter attack , but where are the defenders, looks very clearly that were not interested to mark both silas & Dane closely!!! Just let them go and score , we dont care as we dont want liverpool to win the tittle !!! Thats the kind of attitude they gave !!!! For untd olays well in the first half so that no one can comments about their PERFORMANCEs. plus they were playing at home!!!!! very clearly many utd fans were chanting and cheering for city !!!!! Rhey wanted their team to lose rather than seeing liverpool going for the title!!!! ILE clearly said bafore HE RARHER SEE MAN CITY TO WIN THE TITTLE THAN SEEING LIVERPOOL WINNING IT !!!! WHAT A DISCRIMINATORY !!!!!!!!!!! NER MIND WE LFC HAVE FAITH AND HOPE UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE IF THE LAST REMAINING MATCH !!!! CITY STILL HAVE 3 MORE GAMES TO GO . WE SHALL SEE !!!!!! OLE GI TO HELL AND GET SACKED AS IT HAS BECOME A ROUTUNE FOR MAN UTD TO SAXK MANAGERS !!!!!!

Lingard has been a flop for about 6 conservative matches but I donβt know if he is the son of the only Sir ,or bcos he home grown guy or he has βbribeβ the coach or the coach itself is not good enough for the great team.Even if lukaku is bad,he will tackle and give way to rashford to operate well. Iβm seeing the Cardiff standard that led to his sacking resurfacing now.The coach has been disappointing to say the least. His selection and substitutions has cause about 95% of our poor ran of loses. I guess itβs time to give Romero the chance to keep the remaining league matches to allow De Gea to solve his psychological problem before he disgraces his reputation and kill his confidence.

Manchester United parking the bus ( 5 player defend) and playing counter attack is very useless ( playing average player like lingard for counter with no strength can't maintain ball on his feet), Manchester City out played one minute we re with ball within second city collect it back all United players run back and park the bus. Many players need to be offloaded ( Average players). MANCHESTER UNITED FOR EVER

united played well in the first 30 minutes of the game second half City were dominant one thing I noticed is United's passing was terrible less precision and slow therefore less chances in my opinion Scott Mactominay should have replaced Fred and we really need a good defender to improve our defensive system

That's that. Man City go one point clear of Liverpool with that facile win in the Manchester derby. With three games to go, the title race is firmly in City's control now. They now have to play Burnley, Leicester and Brighton while Liverpool have to play Huddersfield, Newcastle and Wolves.

Coach Ole - why bring on sanchez and martial to change the game when there is only 10 minutes left and we are 2 nill down. The question is, if Ole was not a man United legend, would the fans still think he is the right man for the job? De gea - Should have done better to prevent the 2nd goal. He does not look happy anymore Young - He has been a great servant for united but he clearly looks like its time to let him go Smalling - Did well Lendelof - Did well Shaw - Had a bad game. Maybe it's because he was out for a couple of games Perreira - I don't understand how he made it on the pitch for 80 minutes. An average player who can play better in teams outside the top 4 Pogba - He can not do it all on his own surrounded by average players. Wouldn't be shocked if he left next season Fred - He is very good at giving the ball away. I always wondered why he was never used in the world cup, now I know Lingaard - Missed a great chance to score. A good player but honestly, he is not a top 4 team player Rashford - The boy tried. Play him as a striker with quality wingers and pogba in the mid field then you will see this boy score more than 20 goals a season Lukaku - Can't hold the ball, no confidence and maybe its time for him to move on Sanchez - Looked like a ghost. We all know he is a top quality player but maybe it's time we accept that it is not meant to be for him at united Martial - Cannot really expect him to change the game when given just 10 minutes

I've never been confident of a defeat like this! United fans pretending to have given the match to City because of Liverpool! Even if United needed a draw to go 4th or win EPL, City would win United in 20 different matches... When I hear Ole is building United around Pogba, I only imagine how quickly he will be SACKED!

City really look like true Champions. They just play with calmness and they look so good doing that. Some days ago Liverpool had the easiest fixtures but now it appears City have the easier fixtures. I can't see Guardiolar's team blowing this away as they did in the UCL. I wish Liverpool got their first ever EPL title but I'm afraid Berado Silva and Co. will crush every obstacle on their way now that they can smell the trophy much better.

Omua Ada. Liverpool fans are one of the most funny π fans. They are so desperate and eager to see Man City loose against man united, they even comment on behalf of man united fans. Liverpool fans are Saying so many positive things about united against city, hypocrites. Why donβt you loan Mo Sallah, Sadio mane, and firmino to man united today to help them Win against Man City ? You should have won the league somewhere in January, you messed up now you begging man united to win the game for you. Stop all these cheap politics and propaganda. Just sit back and wait letβs see what happens at the end of 90 minutes. All these hullabaloos wonβt play the game on the field.

ππ[Bear] Go Man City Go! What a squad! What a pleasure to watch you play! And Pep, what a great coach!
πThe last team Liverpool expected to stop Pep's Champions is Man United. Halas! They could only resist as bravely as they can, defeat was inevitable, and Liverpool bragging fans are left crying with the evidence that the tittle is quite City's property already.
πJust three matches to go! But REALISM DECIDES MAN CITY WILL INEVITABLY LIFT THE TROPHY AGAIN!
As for Liverpool,π the have done their best and made the race breathtakingly interesting! But I doubt they will win anything (apart from van Dyik's award). Man City is just too strong to beat!

Manchester United need to Let go of Lukaku, Smalling, Ashley Young, Eric Baeiy and Fred. Manchester United need a lot of work to do with Defense and Strickers. Lukaku is trash. Fred sold the game. He lost so much ball possession. De Gea i wonder what is wrong with him this time. Koulibaly should be #1 signup for Man U. Manchester United needs to change like almost all squad.
