Manchester United are considering a late move for Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen before the transfer deadline, Sky Sports News understands.
While there has not been any direct contact between Tottenham and Manchester United, United are still looking to sign a new creative midfielder after losing Ander Herrera to PSG earlier this summer.
A potential move before 5pm on Thursday is not dependent on Paul Pogba leaving the club, we understand, with one source telling us United currently expect the France midfielder to stay.
With just one year remaining on his contract, Spurs have been prepared to sell Eriksen this summer and there had been talks with Real Madrid earlier in the window. A deal did not materialise, however, with Real boss Zinedine Zidane indicating a preference to try and sign Pogba instead.
Denmark international Eriksen admitted earlier this summer that he “would like to try something new” – but also left the door open to sign a new Spurs deal if he stays.

I would have preferred Bruno . he has all the necessary attribute of an attacking midfielder, and he is the exact replacement of Pogba. someone who scored 32 goals and contributed 18 goals. most of all his goals last season was from outside the box 18. THAT'S EXACTLY WHO WE NEED NOT ERICKSON.

MU need a good replacement of Herrera and Fellaini, if we can get both Bruno and Ericsson that will be a good move because Matic is aging and we as well need someone to support Rashford at the front line, the back line is a little bit okay now. Getting Erikson may be a blessing in disguise for man u.Bruno and Erikson are equivalents. Erikson may even be a better option having knowledge of premier league football. On the other hand, Bruno may perform below average just like di maria when di Maria came from Spanish la liga.

This is a good move to strengthen the Midfield, a world class Midfielder, that will slot in direct into the starting 11 alongside Pogba. It would make a massive difference for United with 2 world class Midfielders in the Centre of the park, it would also help Pogba enhance his influence in the game, knowing Eriksen is there to back him up.
