Manchester United had a very busy transfer deadline day on Monday, making no less than four new signings.

Their squad is now looking a little bloated though, and there is plenty of deadwood around the club still.

United have managed to offload a number of players on loan already this summer, while Chris Smalling clinched a last minute move to Roma for £13.5million.

There is still time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to trim his squad down though, with the domestic transfer window open until October 16, which allows Premier League sides to do business with EFL clubs, and vice versa.

Things haven’t been easy for Jones in recent years at Old Trafford.

The England defender has been plagued with injuries and bad form, meaning he’s barely got a look in - even with United’s defence as poor as it has been.

His wages are probably high, but a loan deal to the Championship is definitely an option.

Argentine defender Rojo is another body United were unable to shift this summer.

But a loan agreement where United pay most of his salary could potentially see him join a top second flight side.

Lee Grant

Grant is now the fourth choice goalkeeper at United, and probably won’t even get a chance in the least important games.

Should Romero leave, it’s unlikely that the former Derby man would be allowed to follow suit.

The 37-year-old is also probably quite comfortable in the role as well, hav
