Manchester United have revealed their squad numbers for the 2018-19 season, with Matteo Darmian not issued a number and Marcos Rojo moving from No.5 to No.16.
Summer signing from Porto Diogo Dalot takes the No.20 shirt, while, as previously confirmed, Marcus Rashford has taken the No.10 previously worn by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney.
The absence of Darmian is intriguing, however, with the defender having been included in the promotional banner showing off the new squad numbers only to not have been mentioned on the official list.
The Italian full-back has been strongly linked with a return to Serie A in the summer transfer window although it was expected he was to be included in the matchday squad to face Leicester City on Friday night.
Rojo, who previously wore the No.5 shirt at Old Trafford, has switched to No.16, a number he used frequently with Argentina, including at the 2018 World Cup.
The defender had been lined up as a summer transfer target for Everton, but he remains at Old Trafford with the Toffees having completed a switch for Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina instead.
Jose Mourinho was ultimately left frustrated in terms of arrivals on deadline day, with the club failing to bring in a new centre-back having targeting the likes of Harry Magure, Toby Alderweireld and Diego Godin.
United get their Premier League campaign underway against Leicester on Friday before heading to Brighton on August 19.
