In what had felt like a typical end of season 0-0 draw, Gabriel Jesus' late goal at Southampton on Sunday ended Manchester City's triumphant Premier League campaign by delivering them to a record 100 points.
It is the first time an English top-flight team have broken into three figures as Pep Guardiola's side beat Tottenham Hotspur's 1961 record of 31 wins and Chelsea's 95 point total from 2005.
Ciy's seven Premier League records
In addition, nobody can claim to have matched their tally of 106 goals that earned a goal difference of +79 and produced a 19-point gap between themselves and second-placed Manchester United, whom they have led for 240 days.
City's 100 points is unprecedented in the Premier League but has been achieved twice in LaLiga, first by Jose Mourinho's 2011/12 Real Madrid who notched an unmatched 121 goals in the process, and a season later by Tito Vilanova's Barcelona side. The Blaugrana won 18 of their opening 19 games that year with Lionel Messi at his absolute best.
Juventus have now won seven Serie A titles in a row and that run includes the 102 point haul produced by Antonio Conte in 2013/14. Winning every home game, the Old Lady scooped 33 victories of a possible 38 while clearing the total they won when going the whole campaign unbeaten two years previous.
Martin O'Neill's side were dominant in 2001/02, lifting the Scottish Premier League with a whopping 103 points that Henrik Larsson spearheaded with 29 goals, aided by strike partner John Hartson's 19.
Down in the Welsh top-flight, Barry Town secured over 100 points in both the 1996/97 and 1997/98 campaigns. In both seasons the south coast club finished with goal differences of +103 with 105 points secured in 1997 and 104 a year later.
While City have the most points for a top-flight season, Reading have gone six better with their English Football League record of 106 in 2005/06. Steve Coppell's side smashed the century barrier in the second-tier before going on to finish eighth in the subsequent Premier League campaign.

Fantastic records broken! Well done Blues, all we need now is for Pep to sign his contract for at least another season!

Ok. I knew Pep would prove his doubters wrong but to do it in this fashion, man what an incredible and unbelievable acheivement. Congratulation to Mr. Pep Guardiola and Manchester City F.C. Officially EPL champions and Centurians of the 2017/18 season
I agree with u and I'm happy what he did for us for man city but next season he needs to be more competitive and strong to defend the PL title and to win trophies as well.

Amazing what Guardiola did with this team of lazy sob's with no heart, I remember last year were walking on the field, all the merit to Pep, it's proven what he can do with a team with good players......

What I meant was if he had good players in the team for sure he will win the Champion Unfortunately with the team he has with mediocre players without quality and heart he only managed to win the Premier

I appreciate his work and the players but next season he needs to change the playing style and his tactics. To give stiff competition.

Guardiola was a fantastic coach and tactician, but horrible at dealing with people/man-managing. He seems to have gotten a little better with that though.

The True Man City legend, changed the vision and philosophy of the club. But heavily under appreciated, not there in City's Hall of fame nor is there a statue of him outside the etihad.

His style of managing is exhausting. Thatβs why he took a sabbatical after Barca. I donβt think he could manage being in one job too long, at least at the top top level.

It says Pep doesn't want to stay for 10 years and doesn't even know if he wants an extension. I don't think the club wants to push it
