Paul Scholes was filmed hobbling out of his house on crutches after suffering a nasty knee injury during Soccer Aid on Sunday.

The Manchester United legend, who revealed his knee was 'f*****' on social media following the charity match for UNICEF, limped out of his house sporting flip-flops on Wednesday as his daughter Alicia filmed the extent of his injury.

The 48-year-old came on as a substitute midway through Soccer Aid and rolled back the years with a smart finish in the 53rd minute, putting England 2-1 ahead early in the second half.

Scholes was forced off moments later at Old Trafford following a collision with his former Red Devils team-mate Nani, and World XI went on to win 4-2.

'Knee's f***** but couldn't give two s****... nothing will ever give me a better feeling than playing in front of a full house at OT and scoring a goal,' the ex-England star said on Instagram after the match.

'Great couple of days with some very funny people.'

Before the Sunday evening kick-off, Scholes fumed on Instagram about the flags handed to fans at Soccer Aid.

Attendees were handed blue and white coloured flags to wave at Old Trafford - in the palette of the charity UNICEF - but it instead resembled a sea of light blue more commonly associated with United's fierce rivals Manchester City.

It was unfortunate timing given Soccer Aid took place less than 24 hours after Pep Guardiola's crosstown team sealed a famous Treble - matching the feat of Scholes and his United colleagues in 1999.

Despite City's dominance this season, it has also been a promising campaign for United in their first under Dutch boss Erik ten Hag.

Scholes claimed the new manager was 'no nonsense' and had significant success in 'turning around' a side who had struggled in recent seasons under a series of underwhelming leaders.

The former midfielder spent his entire career at Old Trafford and racked up a rich portfolio of silverware under Sir Alex Ferguson, winning 11 Premier Leagues, four FA Cups and two Champions League trophies.

A true Red Devils icon, only Ryan Giggs (963) and Sir Bobby Charlton (754) have accumulated more than Scholes' 718 appearances at Manchester United.
