Italy CT Roberto Mancini has tested a 4-3-3 system in his training camp in a hint that is the formation he’ll settle on.
The 54-year-old has organised a two-day camp ahead of next month’s Euro 2020 qualifiers, giving him an opportunity to take a closer look at certain players and tactical ideas.
With youngsters including the likes of Nicolo Zaniolo, Sandro Tonali and Moise Kean being called up, Mancini was seen splitting the squad into several groups centred around the 4-4-3 system.
While it’s an opportunity for the younger players to stake their claim in his eventual squad for the qualifiers, the organised camp also saw Sampdoria veteran Fabio Quagliarella called up following his impressive form so far this season.
Potential line-up: Donnarumma; De Sciglio, Izzo, Criscito; Biraghi; Barella, Tonali, Zaniolo; Politano, Chiesa, Insigne.
