Inter Miami star Lionel Messi will be set to play a full 90 minute match in Major League Soccer's season opener against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night.
Messi had been plagued with injuries that de-railed the club's preseason tour of Asia - prompting the cancellation of two Argentina friendlies in China.
But for the opening game of the season, Messi will be set to play the full match, according to Tata Martino.
Recent star signing striker Luis Suarez is available to play a full 90 as well, said Martino.
Inter Miami will be hoping to get their season off to a better start this year than the one prior.
After going 5-0-10 to start the season, the club fired coach Phil Neville and replaced him with Martino.
That summer, Messi arrived and the team found success in the form of a Leagues Cup title.
But they severely underperformed in the league - and the Messi of the Leagues Cup did not show up in MLS.
After managing ten goals in seven cup games, Messi only scored once in both MLS play and in US Open Cup action.
The club finished 14th out of 15 in the Eastern Conference and 27th out of 29 in the league overall.

then no need to hype Messi again, Everytime you funs talk about his stats thinking he can do alone, just look at Argentina team players they are all good starting from the keeper who should hav e been awarded player of the world cup but you delusional and exaggerating funs said Messi took average Argentina to wc glory, why can't he do the same with you think Miami is no where
Messi won an average Inter Miami their first ever cup. Aren't you aware? And please understand the English well. Al Nassr are better than Inter if you removed both Messi and Ronaldo from the teams. Inter Miami has only gotten better bcos of Messi, and now Suarez, Alba, Busquests and a few others. Al Nassr were competitive even b4 Ronaldo joined them. You note the difference... Now I find it funny now that you are calling Argentina a better team with better players. Yes it's a good team, not individually but as a TEAM. The Argentina that lost the WC final in 2014 was far better than this Argentina as individuals. This Argentina's greatest weapon is teamwork. And the credit goes to the coach too for initially putting aside Messi so that the team could become less reliant on him. Messi then came to beautify the team as a final piece. Winning the WC is for the whole team, not just the goalie you mentioned who was very, very important but also other members such as Di Maria, De Paul, Enzo, Alvarez...it was the WHOLE TEAM. Messi, though, was the MAIN reason Argentina won the WC. You remove Messi, and Argentina wouldn't have made it to the knock outs. Messi was there when the team needed him. But he wasn't alone bcos other players also did their jobs very well. So this Argentina is a good team, not good individuals. I wouldn't say it was an average team even if you also probably didn't know half the names in the team until the WC. And I think that's why maybe some say it was an average team just bcos most players were not known, players such as De Paul, Enzo, Alvarez, and so many were not very know.

Some Saudi goat fans were happy Inter Miami lost big against Al Nassr despite Inter been one of 2/3 worst teams in MLS last season. Why? Bcos Messi played... abt 10/15mins. Messi's standards are out of this world.
