Barcelona star Lionel Messi has won his sixth Golden Shoe award and highlighted the role of his teammates in his form.

It is the third successive year that the Argentine star has scooped the award for the most goals by a player in a major league, while he also won the gong in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
"Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba, who are here, are two of the biggest reasons why I can receive this award. Without my team I could never have won one, this is a trophy for everyone, a recognition of the entire dressing room."
"A big thank to my family, managers, teammates... Without them I wouldn't have achieved this award... Not even one."
Messi netted 36 La Liga goals last season - meaning he earned 72 points in the system for winning the award - having scored 34 and 37 times in each of the previous two seasons, with his record being 50 in the 2011-12 campaign.

Guys help me here ,I have failed to answer my young nephew. He likes football so he has come to know some players particularly Messi and CR7. The other day I told him CR7 scored # 700 goals. He asked me abt Messi (mainly bcos he knows I prefer Messi to cr7- though I do love them both) ,and I told him he isn't far away. Just abt 35 goals less. Now 2day he is asking me this question, and am not sure how to explain to him. If Ronaldo has scored more goals how come he has only won 4 Golden shoes to Messi's 6?

And Messi is the reason why Suarez and Alba are one of the best in their respective position👑.

This is what makes a True Champion, recognising the efforts of others in personal achievement, I don't mean to be divisive but we both know you will never hear this from Ronaldo he will talk about his hard work and dedication and want to sound like he's the hero of his team but we all know he's goals are based on the quality of his teammates and he almost always being in the last line of opponents defence when his team is in possession of the ball, we literally can see the differences in performances of the teams of Messi when he's on and off the pitch but he still spoke of his teammates and even called specific names despite his level of contribution to the team and that right here is the definition of the greatest of all time and I don't dispose of that name so easily, I even think Ronaldinho who made me fall in love with the game of football is ahead of CR7. It's not just about scoring goals or keepers defenders and midfielders won't have a chance, it's about the workday performance on the pitch and off the pitch. NUFF SAID.
