Canal Plus understands that N’Golo Kanté (33) is set to a shock recall to the France squad. Didier Deschamps will name his 26-man squad for this summer’s Euros later on Thursday evening.

It had been thought that Kanté’s international career was over when he made the switch from Chelsea to Al Ittihad on a free transfer last summer. The move to Saudi Arabia came after an injury-hit 12 months at Chelsea, during which he struggled to maintain fitness.

However, in the Gulf State, Kanté has managed to stay fit. He has played 41 times for his club this season and despite playing in a less prestigious league, he could now be in line for a recall, as per Canal Plus.

The broadcaster understands that Kanŧé will be included in Deschamps’ squad to travel to Germany, despite not featuring for Les Bleus since 3rd June 2022. Kanté’s international career looks to have been resurrected.
