N'Golo Kante won his first ever Champions League trophy after putting a solid display in midfield to help Chelsea soak up Manchester City's pressure and clinch a 1-0 win in the final.
After leading Leicester City all the way to Premier League success back in 2015/16, this year's Champions League final man of the match has made huge impact at Chelsea, with whom he celebrated a Premier League title and a Europa League trophy before leading them to Champions league glory.
Yet, for a player who has also been vital to France's success in the 2018 World Cup, Kante's personality has been hailed over the years, with many considering the 30-year-old midfielder as the humblest player in European football.
Blessed to be playing football
Despite being the highest-paid player in Chelsea's history, the Frenchman has never forgotten his humble beginnings and has made clear on various occasions that he is fortunate to be playing top-flight football.
"We are lucky to be playing football for a living," Kante told the Daily Mirror back in 2018.
"For me, this is what I have always wanted to do. To get to this level is all down to Allah's blessing.
"There are millions of people out there who every day want to get the opportunity to do the work we are doing and it's a short career. That is why I give it my all at every given opportunity.
"To play for your nation on the world stage is worth more than money can ever buy, and I get to do that, so I am very fortunate."
Not fond of luxury cars
The story goes that, despite earning a salary that could afford him any car, Kante had to be persuaded by his Leicester City teammates to buy a car instead of running to the Foxes' training.
While most elite football players footballers Ferarris, Lamborghinis or Rolls Royces, Kante bought a Mini Cooper in 2015 and he is still driving the same vehicle to training and to games.
"I've never been someone who loves a car," he told the Sunday Times in 2018.
"My Mini, for the beginning, was good to learn to drive on the left. I got it in Leicester and I still have it now."
