Osimhen speaks on his plans to help people with disabilities in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Victor Osimhen has revealed that he wants to help people with disabilities in Nigeria and Africa at large, and he has cited Sadio Mane as a source of inspiration.
The Nigerian striker is on an ascent to world-class levels and is subject to transfer links to clubs that are expected to break the bank to land him.
What Osimhen said
Osimhen is currently in Nigeria and was at a press conference in Abuja ahead of the game against Guinea-Bissau on Friday, where he spoke on his humanitarian desires.
The striker said he plans to emulate Sadio Mane, who is famed for his philanthropic efforts for the people of Senegal, and in going into specifics about his own plans, Osimhen revealed his desire to help people with disabilities on the continent.
This project is one the Lagos-born forward is passionate about, as he said he is ready to give it all to see the project thrive.
“I am inspired by what Sadio Mane does for his people, even if mine will be a different project," Osimhen said, per GetfootballNewsItaly.
"He helps the Senegalese community and I want to help all the people with disabilities not just in Nigeria, but in Africa. I am ready to give life to my support project and I want to do everything in my power.”
Osimhen setting Nigerian and African records
Osimhen is one of the best strikers in world football this season; his 21 league goals helped him break the record for the most goals scored by a Nigerian in a single Serie A season, previously held by Simy Nwankwo (20).
The 21 goals also equal Samuel Eto'o's record for the most goals scored by an African footballer in a single Serie A season. A record that stood since the 2010/11 season is now set to be broken.
